Rich Hall & Support
“We say lots of people are funny... He’s the real thing.” David Letterman
Grouchy, deadpan comic genius Rich Hall quit his job as a hurricane namer for the United States Meteorological service eighteen years ago and has never looked back. Since then he has won an Emmy for writing on The David Letterman Show, won the Perrier Award with his excellent comic creation Otis Lee Crenshaw and won the Edinburgh Critics Award not once but twice!
A master of absurdist irony, Rich Hall is also widely considered to be the inspiration for Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons. Well known in the US for his TV appearances on The Letterman Show and Saturday Night Live, Rich Hall’s TV work in the UK include ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ and ‘The 11 O’Clock Show’.
“Belly laughs and aching sides… the man is a powerhouse.” The Times
“Anecdotal, observational, inspirational, confrontational, apoplectic, aggressive, vitriolic comedy.” Melody Maker
“Hall is unique - every bit as wonderful on the second, third and even fourth visit... brilliant enough to knock your socks off and keep you laughing all week.” The Scotsman
“As close as it gets to a guaranteed good show.” Scotland On Sunday
